UPDATE: BECKLEY (WVVA) - A sex offender wanted in Raleigh County has turned himself in to authorities.
Ronald Ward II turned himself in to the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department just before midnight Wednesday and was arrested on warrants for the sale and transfer of stolen property.
Ward was then issued a warrant by State Police for failure to register as a sex offender.
Ward is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail on $30,000 bond.

BECKLEY (WVVA) - Following is a news release from the West Virginia State Police, Beckley detachment, regarding a wanted sex offender:
On Wed., Jan. 9, 2013, Cpl. RA Daniel of the WV State Police entered registered sex offender Ronald Ward II, 27 yoa white male from Eccles, Raleigh County, into NCIC as a wanted subject. Mr. Ward maintains a 2006 conviction for 3rd Degree Sexual Assault from Raleigh County of a 16 yoa female. The offense qualifies Mr. Ward as a lifetime registrant due to the victim being a minor.
Registered sex offenders are required to register annually in their month of birth and must also register within ten (10) business days of any change of their registry information. After failing to report for his annual registration, it was discovered that Mr. Ward no longer resided at his last known address.
Current warrants are on file for Mr. Ward for Failure to Register Sex Offender and his whereabouts are unknown. He is approx. 5'10", 180 lb, brown hair which may be cut close to bald, and multiple tattoos. The last known address of Mr. Ward was in the Ballfield Rd. area of Eccles, Raleigh County. He is known to frequent the Glen White, Crab Orchard and Beckley areas of Raleigh County as well as locations within Fayette, Greenbrier and Summers Counties.
