UPDATE:

ALTA, W. Va (WVVA)-- More details have been released about a shooting in Alta in Greenbrier County.

It happened at a home in a trailer park called "Alta Acres" in Alta, just off Route 12.

Greenbrier County Sheriff Jan Cahill said the shooter is 51-year-old Anthony Lee Ramsey of Asbury.  Police say Ramsey confessed to shooting 25-year-old Brian Meadows. Both were living in the home where the shooting took place.

According to court documents, police responded to a call about a shooting and found Ramsey sitting in front of the home when they arrived.

He was arrested without incident, and confessed to the crime at the scene.

Police found Meadows lying face down in the home, with a 12-gauge shotgun lying on the floor next to him.

Sheriff Cahill says the situation began with a verbal argument that then escalated when Ramsey loaded his gun and shot Meadows. He adds that alcohol was a contributing factor.

Police say a medical examiner has confirmed Meadows' death.

Ramsey is charged with murder and is behind bars at Southern Regional Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
