House saved in Frankford Fire

FRANKFORD, W. Va (WVVA)-- Four fire departments responded to a house fire in Frankford Thursday morning.

It happened about 3/4 of a mile down Germany Road around 3:45 AM, said Frankford Fire Chief Brian Ford.

Greenbrier County 911 said the Frankford, Renick, Williamsburg and Lewisburg Fire Departments, plus the Northern Greenbrier Ambulance Service, responded to the call.

According to Chief Ford, everyone living in the home made it outside before fire crews arrived.

"No one was injured," said Ford, "and we were able to save the home."

Chief Ford said about a third of the residence was destroyed, but the rest has been saved.

Although the cause of the fire is still under investigation, he said he believes it "started out as a vehicle fire," next to the home and then spread from there.

About 20 firefighters were on the scene for about five hours until it was cleared around 8:00 AM Thursday.
