BECKLEY (WVVA) - As soon as the ball dropped in New York City, the Mountain State University campus officially became UC-Beckley.
University of Charleston officials held a banner hanging at 12:01 a.m. at Carter Hall on the Beckley campus. The rest of the exterior signage and banners were hung immediately afterwards.
UC is taking over operations at MSU after the school lost its accreditation.
Classes begin on Jan. 14.
