Light Snow and Cold Return

Bluefield (WVVA) -- Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for Tazewell, Mercer, Summers, Greenbrier, Fayette, & Pocahontas Counties until noon Sunday for cold, wind and snow. On Saturday morning, most across the two Virginias were dealing with a wintry mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain. By Saturday evening, any mix changed back to snow and looks to continue for the mountains through Sunday morning. Snow accumulation is expected to stay light with most areas picking up on a dusting to 2 inches. Snow totals will be higher across the northwest facing slopes of Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties.

We will wrap up 2012 and start 2013 with a cold and active weather pattern here in the 2 Virginias. Another storm system looks to bring rain and snow Monday night and Tuesday, bringing slick road conditions for New Years Day. Colder and drier weather is on tap for the end of the week.
