Greenbrier County deals with winter storm

Posted:

LEWISBURG, W. Va (WVVA)-- Freezing rain pelted Greenbrier County Wednesday, creating slick roads.

The WV Department of Highways had 20 trucks clearing roadways throughout the county, working 12-hour shifts.

Still, at least 16 accidents occurred since the morning, said Greenbrier County's 911 center.

Adam Beverage from Marlinton was out at Wal Mart shopping for last-minute storm necessities, including bottled water.

"I slid into a fence on the way here, but I'm ok," he said. "Just taking it slow [on the way home.]"
