BECKLEY (WVVA) -- Snow didn't stop holiday shoppers like Caroline Aills and her family from last minute gifting, but she tells WVVA News, she didn't come to Crossroads Mall willingly.
"I was demanded out of my house at 9 o'clock in the morning, telling me we had a few more things to get," says Aills.
With Christmas just days away and last minute deals flooding the mall, William Keffer says he was dragged to the mall despite the storm too. He says that he used to drive a tractor trailer, and snow doesn't scare him.
"I don't bother me. I just like to get out and see what kind of roads situation is… How much snow there are in places," says Keffer.
Mall workers tell WVVA that after Super Storm Sandy, they took extra steps to prepare for bad weather close to Christmas.
"We've been working very hard," says Kathy Housh, Crossroads Mall General Manager. "Our [parking] lot looks very good, and I think the snow is gonna be manageable."
With Christmas right around the corner, even Aills came around to spending the snowy day at the mall. "We're here to be a family… and have a good time before Christmas," she says.
