PRINCETON (WVVA) - Firefighters are currently battling a house fire on Mirkwood Lane, just off Route 19 near Princeton.
The fire was first reported around 3 p.m. Friday. Crews from Princeton, East River and Bluestone Valley fire departments are on scene, in addition to the Mercer County Sheriff's Department.
A brother of the homeowner tells tell WVVA News at the scene that the homeowner was not at home at the time of the fire.
A passerby called 911 and was able to open a door to the home to free two dogs that were inside. The homeowner's brother says there were a total of four dogs inside the home.
