Greenbrier Co. swears in public officials


LEWISBURG, W. VA (WVVA)-- A judge swore in public officials in Greenbrier County on Wednesday.

Their terms do not officially begin unto January 1, 2013, but this marked their ceremonial start.

Those sworn in at the ceremony included: Woody Hanna, newly elected to the Greenbrier County Commission; Patrick Via, the incumbent county prosecuting attorney; Jan Cahill, who won over incumbent Jim Childers in the heated Sheriff race; Brenda Campbell, who will return as a magistrate for another term; Kim Johnson, magistrate assistant; Steve Keadle, assessor; and Ryan Blake, assistant prosecutor.

Betty Crookshanks, the president of the Greenbrier County Commission, was also awarded for her service to the county. She has been named a Distinguished West Virginian from the WV Governor's Office.

She told WVVA, "This is the highlight of my career... I'm at a loss for words."
