NARROWS (WVVA) - As 2012 draws to an end, so does job security for over 100 employees for a Giles County based business.
Mundy officials announced that 123 employees of Mundy Support Services will be laid by the start of next year.
Mundy is contracted by the Celanese plant in Narrows, Virginia. Mundy Vice President of Human Resources tells WVVA that their contract with the plant ends on December 31st, and will not be renewed.
Mundy provides maintenance and operations support for the Giles County based plant.
Celanese has decided to contract a new company. The Shaw Group Inc. received the bid for contracting from Celanese.
The group is based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Andy Beard says that it is likely that the new contractor will interview and hire the majority of the employees back on to work in the plant.
