UPDATE: Authorities call Oak Hill apartment fire arson


OAK HILL (WVVA) - Investigators say a fire that destroyed an Oak Hill apartment complex last weekend was intentionally set.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Department told WVVA News Wednesday that the blaze that occurred on Saturday at the Central Avenue complex has been ruled an arson. 

Several residents were left homeless after the blaze. No injuries were reported.


OAK HILL (WVVA)--- It took crews several hours to contain a blaze that engulfed a Fayette County apartment complex Saturday.

No injuries were reported, but several residents are now homeless after the blaze that began just before 5 p.m. on Central Avenue in Oak Hill.

The apartment was fully engulfed when crews arrived on the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
