Alderson Fun Fest to raise money for town after derecho

Posted:

ALDERSON, W. Va-- The Alderson 4th of July Committee is proud to present the first-ever Alderson Jingle Bell Fun Fest.

The town's typically large 4th of July festival was postponed due to the June 29 storm. The ticket sales were down, and the town is now struggling to recover from the financial losses it faced. The funds raised at this Jingle Bell Fun Fest event will go toward building back the treasury to allow a fantastic 2013 festival.

"Our fall festival, which we had to try to make up for the cancellation of the 4th of July, also had pouring rain," said representative Detra McVey. "Therefore, attendance was terrible, and we are in a hole with the celebration for trying to have it next year."

The committee would like to thank Alderson Medical Center for their help in sponsoring this event

The Jingle Bell Fun Fest is on Saturday, December 15, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and will be held at the Alderson Community Center. The Jingle Bell Fun Fest will be the first of its kind in the Greenbrier Valley with a schedule of events that has something for everyone! You will find:
