The National Soccer Coaches Association of America, is pleased to inform Laura Hill of her selection to the 2012 NSCAA High School Scholar All-America Team. Congratulations on being named one of the best high school players on the field and in the classroom in 2012.
To be nominated, a player must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or better (on a 4.0 scale), must have demonstrated excellence in soccer at the high school level and must have performed service in his or her community. The Scholar All-America Committee examines the resumes of the eligible candidates and then selects the team. Last year, only 35 scholar athletes were recognized and chosen as All-American from across the nation. A complete list for 2012 will be released later in December. The All-American awards program is administered under the auspices of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the world's largest soccer coaches association, and includes recognition of male and female All-America players.
Laura will be presented the Scholar All-American award at the annual NSCAA All-America Luncheon on Saturday, January 19, 2013, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event honors All-America players at the youth, high school and college levels.
The All-America Luncheon program features a graduation style presentation of the award winners on stage by level. Players are introduced, cross the stage, are congratulated by dignitaries and have an opportunity for individual and group photos. Julie Foudy, United States World Cup champion, Olympic gold medalist and current broadcaster for ESPN and ABC Sports, will serve as guest speaker. She will greet all of the All-America players honored at the luncheon.
It is an extraordinary event celebrating the best amateur soccer players in the United States for 2012.
Congratulations once again on this prestigious honor. You have been recognized from among thousands of student-athletes as one of high school soccer's elite for 2012.
