PRINCETON (WVVA) - A Princeton man was tied to a toilet in his own home after having his throat slit by a neighbor demanding his truck keys and debit card, according to a criminal complaint filed on the incident.
According to the complaint, Roy Lee Williams, 41, attacked George Delaney, 67, with a kitchen knife at Delaney's home on LJ Street in Princeton last Thursday.
Delaney told police after his throat was cut that Williams forced him into the bathroom, where Williams tied him to the toilet with an electrical cord and demanded the keys and card.
Delaney obliged and Williams left the residence, according to the complaint, only to return and leave a second time with a credit card.
Upon a third visit to the residence, police say Williams agreed to free Delaney if he agreed not to contact the police.
Delaney was released from the bindings and was left bleeding in the bathroom.
The complaint also states the Delaney witnessed Williams smoking crack during his second visit to the residence.
Delaney did not contact police until the following day. Upon arrival police saw severe wounds to Delaney and transported him to Princeton Community Hospital for emergency care.
After collecting evidence from Williams' home, police were advised by the suspect's wife that her husband had stated to her his intent to turn himself in to police.
Williams was taken into custody Saturday. He is charged with attempted murder, malicious wounding, armed robbery and kidnapping.
