Bluefield officials want to meet with Food City reps

Posted:

BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - City leaders in Bluefield are putting pressure on Food City's parent company, KVAT, to allow a grocery store to come into the old Kroger building on Cumberland Road.

Board members will vote on a resolution next week which would invite KVAT administrators to meet with them after the holidays.

The board will also discuss the widening economic impact the empty store is having on surrounding business and property values.
