CHARLESTON (WVVA)--- WVU closed out Marshall in the final minutes of the game to pick up a big non-conference win against their in-state rival 69-59.
Deniz Kilicli had a season-high 21 points leading the way in the win. Juwan Staten added 12 for the Mountaineers.
D.D. Scarver had 17, Elijah Pittman had 16 and DeAndre Kane added 13 in the loss.
This is the sixth win in the last seven meeting for West Virginia over the Thundering Herd.
West Virginia will take their 3-3 record home to take on an undefeated Virginia Tech team Saturday.
Marshall will head back to Huntington with a 5-4 record to take on Coppin State Saturday.
