Snowshoe offers free skiing to W.Va. residents

SNOWSHOE (WVVA) - West Virginia residents can hit the ski slopes for free at Snowshoe this weekend.

On Saturday, Snowshoe Mountain Resort will host a free day of skiing for residents who provide proof of residence, such as a state-issued ID, utility bill, etc.

The resort's conditions are strong as nearly 28 inches of snow came to the resort from storms, solidifying the resort's earliest opening in ten years.

The resort now has 7 lifts and 21 trails open.

Silver Creek will remain open on weekends only, until it's regularly scheduled opening of December 14.
