BECKLEY (WVVA) - Veterans at the VA Medical Center in Beckley received a special donation Monday.
Eighteen women in the 'Friends of the Sewing Gallery' made 50 quilts for the veterans. The quilts -- along with gift bags and more -- were presented to the veterans Monday to help spread some holiday cheer.
Marie Bailey of the Friends of the Sewing Gallery says the donations took three months to put together and are valued at more than $12,000 total.
Bailey says many local businesses and personal donors made the donations possible.
