Montcalm parade carries extra meaning

MONTCALM (WVVA) - Residents in Montcalm came together for more than just a parade Saturday, in the wake of a fire that left one family with nothing just weeks before Christmas.

The community showed its support for the Breeden family by offering donations for the family of four whose home was destroyed by fire last week.

The donations were collected at the Montcalm Fire Department, where the family gathered to watch the parade.

Following the parade, a special award was given to the Breeden's nine-year-old son, Tyler, who alerted his family to the blaze, which allowed all to escape without harm.

If you would like to help the Breeden family, contact the Montcalm Volunteer Fire Department.
