PRINCETON (WVVA) - A former employee has pleaded guilty to embezzling $16,000 from the Mercer County Sheriff's Department over a 5-year span.
Charlotte Harvey entered the plea to one count of embezzlement on Friday.
Harvey was sentenced to one year probation. She has already made restitution of $14,600.
Harvey left her position at the department in Sept. 2011. Mercer County prosecutor Scott Ash says Harvey had admitted of the wrongdoing to co-workers and an immediate supervisor.
The embezzlement occurred from 2006-2011.
