PRINCETON (WVVA) - A series of house fires kept multiple crews busy across Mercer County late Monday evening into Tuesday morning.
Five departments responded to a mobile home fire on Kirby Addition Road in Princeton Monday evening.
No one was home at the time of the fire. A man living there was attending the Princeton Christmas Parade when the blaze began.
The home suffered extensive damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but preliminary findings suggest a clothes dryer may have sparked the blaze.
Just after midnight, a house on Duck Pond Road in Bluewell caught fire just after midnight. Crews from Bluewell, Bramwell and Montcalm responded.
Firefighters were called back to the scene at 4 a.m. for a rekindle.
At 1 a.m., a home on Razorback Road in Montcalm also caught fire. Montcalm, Bluestone Valley, Matoaka and Green Valley fire departments responded and were still on scene at last report.
