Thousands turn out for annual Princeton Christmas Parade

Posted:

PRINCETON (WVVA) - Thousands gathered Monday evening to watch southern West Virginia's largest Christmas parade roll through Princeton.

This year's parade featured more than 100 units, including fire trucks, floats and marching bands.

In total, the parade stretched for more than a mile -- and that means lots of candy tossed out to parade goers.

Those who braved the rainy conditions said the parade was just the thing to put them in the Christmas spirit.

This was Princeton's 48th annual Christmas parade. This year's float winners were as follows:

Business Category:

  1. Princeton Community Hospital
  2. Sissy's Pony Party

Civic Category:

  1. Princeton Primary Show Choir
  2. Cub Scout Pack 2 of Glenwood

Religious Category:

  1. Faith Baptist Church
  2. Princeton Praise and Worship Center
