Catalytic converters stolen from hospital parking lot

Posted:

BECKLEY (WVVA) - Police are investigating the theft of two catalytic converters stolen off of vehicles parked at Raleigh General Hospital.

Catalytic converters contain precious metals desirable to thieves. The parts can be removed quickly and sold for a high price.

West Virginia state law requires any salvage yard that receives a catalytic converter to report the name of the person bringing it in.

Hospital officials say they are working with authorities on the incident.
