Posted:

BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - The City of Bluefield's fire department has a new chief -- and enough manpower to reopen its Cumberland Road station.

Capt. Jeffrey Warden was named the new fire chief on Tuesday. Also Tuesday at the city Board of Directors meeting, it was announced that Fire Station No. 3 on Cumberland -- which had been temporarily closed due to staffing issues -- will be reopening.

The department has increased its manpower from 7 to 19 active firefighters, city manager Jim Ferguson.
