Authorities search for Huntington fugitive with Mercer ties

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP and WVVA) -- Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from a work release program in Huntington.

The West Virginia Division of Corrections tells media outlets that 41-year-old Thomas Lee Dunn left his job at a Huntington restaurant after he took out the trash late Sunday night.

A warrant for felony escape was issued early Monday morning.

Dunn was serving a sentence for daytime burglary and obtaining money by false pretense charges in Mercer County.

Dunn is a 5'9" white male. He weighs 239 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.

Dunn has multiple tattoos, including a cross near his right a eye, a tear drop near his left eye, 'Patsy' on his right forearm and Mickey Mouse with flames on his left forearm.
