UPDATE:
White Sulphur Springs police tell WVVA there was no weapon involved in the alleged armed robbery of The Liquor Shop in White Sulphur Springs Friday night.
After an extended interview with an employee at the liquor store, White Sulphur Springs police and the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Department determined the crime was a staged robbery, planned by the employee and a friend.
"We obtained a voluntary permission to search form," said Jerry Smith of the White Sulphur Springs Police Department, "and searched a residence in White Sulphur Springs. We found a large amount of cash there."
Police will not disclose the exact amount of cash found.
Smith said they spoke with prosecuting attorney Patrick Via, who advised them to get warrants for arrest. He says they plan to arrest the two male suspects early next week.
White Sulphur Springs police would like to thank the other agencies that aided them in the investigation. "Without us working together, this investigation could have gone on for days," said Smith.
