    MONTCALM, W.Va. (AP) -- A barn demolition project in Mercer County has uncovered a 19th century log school. Brian Pigg discovered the hand-hewn logs at his barn's core while removing siding. The barn is located on Browning Lambert Mountain in the Montcalm area. Retired Montcalm High School history teacher Jack Johnson tells the Bluefield Daily Telegraphthat the log structure was once known as the Mullins School. Chief Stover of the Lewisburg Police Department released the name of the man found outside a Lewisburg church Friday in this statement to WVVA News:

Thomas Daniel Cardis, 40 of Sheperdstown, formerly of Lewisburg was found in a allyway between True Value Hardware and Mt. Tabor Church on Friday afternnon. No foul play is suspected and the body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office to determine cause of death.  Detective Cpl. J.A. Vance is the investigating officer in this case.

LEWISBURG (WVVA) - Authorities say no foul play is suspected after a man's body was discovered outside a Lewisburg church Friday.

A passerby saw the body around 12:30 p.m. in an alleyway between True Value Hardware and Mount Tabor Baptist Church. The body was in a stairwell leading down to a basement area of the church.

Police have not released the identity of the body, only that it's a middle aged male.

The body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office.
