BECKLEY (WVVA) - A man who escaped home confinement is now charged with attempting to run over a police officer.

Police arrested 21-year-old Dylan Morgan around 3 p.m. in the Raleigh Ridge area.

Morgan was on home confinement from previous felonies when he cut off his monitoring bracelet Thursday morning, which alerted police.

Lt. Randy Burgess spotted the suspect in his vehicle and attempted to pull him over. The suspect's vehicle became stuck on Skyline Drive. As Lt. Burgess attempted to approach the suspect police say Morgan put the vehicle in reverse, pinning Burgess between the two vehicles.

Police say Morgan then attempted to strike Burgess with his car, before fleeing the scene. Burgess was able to follow in his car.

Morgan fled on foot in the Orchard Hill area, and was apprehended by police a short time later.

He is charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
