Trade Halloween Candy for Cash

Posted:

PRINCETON (WVVA) - Now that Halloween has come and gone, trick-or-treaters now have the chance to trade in all of that extra Halloween candy for cash.

Dentist David A Najar DDS is paying kids one dollar for every pound of Halloween candy they bring to his office in Princeton.

Global sugar consumption for kids increases by about 2 percent annually and currently sits at 50 million tons per year, which means parents need to be very watchful now more than ever before.

Dr. Najar says that too much candy can lead to hyperactivity and weight gain, as well as cavities or worse.

All candy that is turned into his office will be shipped overseas to military troops in the Middle East in a Halloween care package.

Candy is being accepted until Wednesday, November 14th at 1514 North Walker Street, Princeton, WV 24740.
