BECKLEY (WVVA) - An escapee from the Beckley Correctional Center has been captured.

Joseph Cody Genet was captured Wednesday, according to a release from the correctional center.

Further details on the capture were not immediately available.

BECKLEY (WVVA) - Police are searching for an escapee in Raleigh County.

Joseph Genet, 26, was not present at the Beckley Correctional Center during midnight count.

According to the West Virginia Division of Corrections, Genet is a white male, 6'3" tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

He has multiple tattoos on his hands, arms and legs.

Genet is serving 1-15 years on charges of burglary in Wayne County.
