Fire destroys Fayette family's home


LANSING (WVVA) - A family of four escaped unharmed after a fire destroyed their home Monday night.

The blaze began shortly before midnight at the home in the Lansing area. The father was awakened by the sound of breaking glass and was able to get his wife and two children out of the home safely.

The home is a complete loss. The victims are currently staying with family members.

Crews from four fire departments responded to battle the blaze. Flames were visible when the first crews arrived.

It took firefighters approximately five hours to contain the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
