HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- A former employee of a Huntington convenience store will spend three years on probation for participating in a food stamp scheme.
Cynthia Gibson pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to commit food stamp fraud. Prosecutors say she and two co-defendants illegally redeemed about $127,000 worth of food stamp benefits at the All-In-One store between June 2010 and February 2012.
The Herald-Dispatch reports that Gibson was sentenced Monday in federal court in Huntington. U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers ordered her to pay $19,350 in restitution.
Former store manager Stephanie Pauley received four years on probation in September. The store's former owner, Abe Eloirzazi, is awaiting sentencing.
