Miners, families come together in prayer

Posted:

RICHLANDS (WVVA) - Local coal miners and their families came together in prayer Monday at the Richlands Miners Memorial.

Just in the past month, more than 1,200 coal mining jobs have been cut and a number of area mines have been idled.

Monday night's annual gathering was led by five pastors and put together by the Richlands Chamber of Commerce.

Attendees prayed for the mining industry, and the communities and families connected to it.
