UPDATE: LAVISTA (WVVA)-- New details on the fatal car accident yesterday in Fayette County.

Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler says that the person that died on the scene was a 91-year-old female.

Police also say that the accident involved five vehicles on Route 60 in LaVista, and sent four people to the hospital

Sheriff Kessler says that a Chevy Tahoe that tried to pass a vehicle in front of it and then struck a Chevy Impala that was traveling the other way, head on.

Each were then struck from behind by other vehicles.

Police say that both rain and fog played a role in the accident.

LAVISTA (WVVA)--- A person is dead after a three vehicle accident in Fayette County.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, the person was dead on the scene of the accident.

The accident had one person entrapped in a vehicle.

Two others involved in the crash are in critical condition and will be transported to local hospitals.

The Fayette County Sheriff's office is on the scene and is investigating.
