ABINGDON (WVVA) - Fresh off of Wednesday night's first presidential debate, Mitt Romney addressed supporters in Southwest Virginia Friday.

Romney spoke at Carter Machinery in Abingdon shortly after noon Friday.

Called a 'Coal Country Rally,' Romney expressed his support for the mining industry to the cheers of hundreds in attendance outside the Washington County business.

Romney also received a large ovation for his pledge to repeal 'Obamacare,' saying "we can't afford it and we don't need it."

WVVA's Josh Frketic was in Abingdon for coverage of the event and will have more on WVVA News at 5 and 6.
