Raleigh General Hospital is sponsoring its annual Walk to Remember this Saturday in observance of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. The purpose is to increase community awareness and support bereaved families. Organizers say its an opportunity to memorialize babies who have died through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or early infant death.
The Walk to Remember will be held Saturday, October 6th from noon until 2pm in the Raleigh General Hospital Education Center. There will be a short program, release of balloons, release of a dove, the reading of the poem " Walk to Remember ", refreshments and a time of sharing.
Families are encouraged to bring pictures, mementos of the child that has passed if they so desire.
