Pig drawing benefits area children

Posted:

LEWISBURG (WVVA) - A local organization raffled off a pig -- yes, a pig -- to benefit area children.

CASA -- an organization that cares for abused and neglected children -- raffled off meat from a pig donated by Sheriff Jim Childers.

Childers bought the pig from a Greenbrier County student at the State Fair of West Virginia.

CASA raised more than $1,000 by selling chances to win the meat.

Mary Beth O'Dell came away with the prized.

Leaders say the money raised will support volunteers as they help children in the area.
