W.Va. marks Breast Cancer Awareness Day

Posted:

LEWISBURG (WVVA) - Advocates in Lewisburg marked Breast Cancer Awareness Day by hanging a wreath at the county courthouse Monday.

The wreath was hung in honor of survivors as well as those who've lost the battle.

The wreath will remain at the courthouse through the month of October.

According to advocacy organizations, more than 40,000 women in the United States will die from breast cancer this year.

Experts say the best defense is to have regular checkups and do self exams.
