MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Fundraising for West Virginia University is stronger than ever.
At the Board of Governors meeting in Morgantown Friday, WVU Foundation President Wayne King said donors contributed a record $174 million in cash and in-kind gifts during fiscal year 2012.
That includes a single in-kind software donation from Siemens PLM Software valued at $71 million.
The remaining $103 million donated during the year is also a record, topping last year's $96.3 million.
King says the investment returns on the $1.1 billion endowment were flat.
As of June 30, he said the foundation had received $558 million toward its current campaign, "A State of Minds." That's 74 percent of the $750 million goal.
