FOLLOW UP: Raleigh prosecutor to take over case of missing Greenbrier drugs

Posted:

BECKLEY (WVVA) - Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Keller will likely be appointed to lead the investigation into drugs and cash taken from the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office.

As first reported by WVVA News this week, a former employee of the office is suspected in the theft.

While paperwork is pending, Keller tells WVVA News she has accepted the role.

Greenbrier County prosecutor Patrick Via had asked to be recused from the case citing a conflict of interest.

Greenbrier County Sheriff Jim Childers tells WVVA News he has given the prosecuting attorney all the evidence and information he could about his former officer's misconduct.

He also affirmed no open cases will be affected by the misconduct.
