Tomblin visits Princeton

PRINCETON (WVVA) - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin visited Princeton Wednesday, delivering 'thank yous' to first responders.

Tomblin delivered thank-you cards made by elementary school students to workers at the Princeton Fire Department.

Tomblin commended the crews for their efforts during the destructive storms that struck the region in June.

"I was just so pleased with all of the first responders from all over the state," Tomblin said. "They were able to work at the city, county, state level -- everyone was working together."

Tomblin headed to Hinton following his Princeton stop. He is currently on the campaign trail, vying to fend off the challenge of Republican Bill Maloney on November's gubernatorial ballot.
