Fatal mauling of W.Va. boy ruled accident

ST. MARYS, W.Va. (AP) -- Pleasants County prosecutor Carl Bryant says the fatal mauling of a 2-year-old boy by two dogs has been ruled an accident.

Bryant tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel (http://bit.ly/PXWn8a ) that the incident won't be presented to the grand jury for consideration unless new evidence comes up.

Police have said the mixed-breed dogs attacked Jack Redin of St. Marys after he wandered into a neighbor's yard on June 13. The boy was dead when his father found him.

The dogs were confined by an underground electronic fence. They were euthanized after the attack.
