SYLVESTER, W.Va. (AP) -- A Whitesville volunteer firefighter is in critical condition after a tanker trucker heading to a fire overturned.
Media outlets say the accident occurred Tuesday morning on State Route 3 in Sylvester. The 2,200-gallon tanker truck was responding to a fire in Orgas.
Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department Chief David Hodges says in a news release that the firefighter was critically injured. He was flown to a Charleston hospital. His name hasn't been released.
The accident is being investigated by the Boone County Sheriff's Office and the West Virginia Fire Marshal's Office.
