BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - The Bluefield Police Department is on the lookout for a man who allegedly took a woman's purse after church Sunday.
Patrolman J.D. Shrewsbury says the incident occurred outside the Long John Silvers restaurant on Cumberland Road at 12:40 p.m.
A white male, described as younger, approximately 6'3" with no facial hair, attempted to grab the woman's purse. A struggle ensued before the suspect cut the strap and fled with the purse.
The suspect left in a silver Chevy Malibu.
The purse contained approximately $550 in cash, as well as checks and other personal items.
