PRINCETON (WVVA) - The Route 460-Interstate 77 interchanged in Princeton has a new name.
The interchanged was officially renamed the Rod Thorn Interchange during a ceremony at the Chuck Mathena Center Sunday.
Thorn is a Princeton native who went on to play basketball at West Virginia University and became the second overall pick in the 1963 NBA Draft.
Thorn has enjoyed a long career as a basketball executive following his playing days. He currently serves as the general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Thorn says that through all his accomplishments, the dedication from his hometown is truly humbling.
Several of Thorn's former teammates and coaches were in attendance for the occasion.
