RAINELLE (WVVA) - Five people have been indicted in connection with an arson at the State Police detachment in Rainelle that destroyed several vehicles.
No one was injured in the early-morning hours of Dec. 15, 2011 when multiple vehicles were burned on the parking lot of the West Virginia State Police barracks in Rainelle.
A police cruiser, a trooper's personal vehicle, and multiple vehicles that had recently been seized were destroyed.

The detachment building also suffered damage.
The indictments were handed down during a special session of the Greenbrier County Grand Jury on Thursday.
"These matters have been treated with extraordinary importance by our office as the acts alleged represent serious threats to the security of our community," Prosecuting Attorney Patrick Via said.
"These allegations include unlawful retaliatory acts against the West Virginia State Police for the performance of official duties. Law enforcement officers, including the West Virginia State Police, are duty-bound to protect the citizens that they serve, and we must act to provide protection for them against alleged retaliation for their service."
