Wade Center Raises Money, But It Is Still Not Enough

Bluefield, WV (WVVA) -

The Wade Center is looking for your help. Their programs have helped many kids in the Bluefield community, but that help will end if they are not able to raise $81,000 for a license to run those programs. They have been fundraising for about a month, and so far the results have been promising.

"We haven't made a deposit yet in a couple days. Right now we're around $52,000. We have another deposit that we need to make and then I'll know an update at that time."

McDaniel has noticed the community rallying behind the center, and is thankful for their efforts.

"It really seems like it is the whole community pulling together to see this wade center open. They realize how important it is."

The Wade Center has a new Program Director this year. Jonathan Frazier says he wants to help any kid he can, and the center's programs will allow him to do so.

"We want to empower these kids by these programs to be great citizens no matter what their situation is, no matter what their economic status is, no matter where they come from."

Right now, the wade center is $29,000 short, and needs that money by the end of the month, but McDaniel is confident they will meet their goal.

"We will raise that $81,000. We have no doubt about that."
