BLUEFIELD (WVVA) - After more than 15 years at WVVA, Chief Meteorologist Corey Henderson has left the station to return to his roots in the Midwest.
Corey will be returning to his family home in Macomb, Ill., to help care take care of his father, and the family farm.
Corey first joined WVVA in 1997. His final broadcast was Friday.
An open house was held at WVVA Studios in Bluefield Friday afternoon where dozens of viewers showed up to bid Corey farewell in person.
Hundreds others also said thanks via telephone, Facebook and WVVA.com.
Several former WVVA staff members who worked alongside Corey during his long tenure at WVVA also sent messages wishing the best.
Corey will be sorely missed by his co-workers and the tens of thousands of viewers that watched him daily on WVVA News at 5, 6 and 11.
