New BSC President says Changes will Take Time

Posted:

BLUEFIELD (WVVA)--- The new school year for Bluefield State College brought more than just aspiring college freshman. It brought a brand new President to the college.

Dr. Marsha Krotseng was named BSC's 13th President in August. Although this is her first tenure as president, she has been in education for the past 25 years. Most recently as the Vice Chancellor, Strategic Planning/Executive Director, College Technical Education Council, North Dakota University System.

She has also served as Associate Vice President & Chief Planning Officer at Valdosta State University and Vice Provost/Executive Assistant to the President at West Liberty State College and Assistant Professor at The University of Mississippi.

Dr. Krotseng described her first few weeks as being on "roller skates", starting her job as president just as the school year was beginning. However that has not stopped her from getting out to the Bluefield State Community and sharing her philosophy of where she wants the college to go.

Tune in tonight on W-V-V-A News at 11 to hear more of Dr. Krotseng's interview.
