Tony O. Martin - WV - House - 30th

A political newcomer, Tony made a strong showing against 23 year incumbent and current Beckley Mayor Emmett Pugh in Beckley's 2011 Municipal Election.

Tony was born in Beckley and grew up in the city's East Park neighborhood. Tony married his wife Jaymi on June 17th, 1995 at Welcome Baptist Church in East Park and they have three children.

Tony attended Central Elementary, Beckley Junior High and Woodrow Wilson High School.  A homegrown product and life-long resident of the City of Champions, Tony has always seen opportunity in Beckley and unlike many of his peers did not leave Beckley after high school.  In pursuit of his childhood dream to be a police officer, Tony went on to study criminal justice at Bluefield State College and Mountain State University.

Tony's professional background consists of experience in sales, marketing, tax and accounting.  As an entrepreneur, Tony has created jobs and has proven himself to be resourceful with time and money.

Tony is also very active in the community.  With a passion for youth programs, Tony often contributes his skills and talents to various community organizations.  Tony is a member of Welcome Baptist Church, Generation Beckley, The Raleigh County Historical Society and serves as an officer on the Boards of Directors of the Muster Project, Unity Hall Community Center and the Beckley Area Recreation for Canines Planning & Advisory Committee.

Tony wants to continue his commitment to Beckley as our Delegate for the 30th District in the West Virginia House of Delegates.  He understands that having an effective people climate is essential to retaining our talented youth, attracting new jobs and stimulating our economy.
